Clean inside laptop ribbon cable port

Is there a way to clean inside a laptop keyboard's ribbon cable port, the piece on the motherboard? The keyboard's ribbon cable isn't seating straight and I believe there is gunk up in there causing issues. What would be the best way to get up in there besides compressed air? What tool would fit best?

The pointed edge of a razor blade, being careful not to damage any of the pins. Can you see any obstruction in there?

I have a really nice precision set of tweezers (Miltex 6-118) that I have used for similar issues.

I'll give it a try. I can't get at the right angle to see anything in it.

Besides compressed air, I find a small, soft-bristled, paint brush is good for shifting crud.

I have a number of paint brushes of different sizes and bristle stiffness that I use.

EDIT: You do still need to be very gentle with those connectors though.

I've used an exacto knife in the past. But to be honest it's very difficult for stuff to get in there. The cable not seating may be an issue with the cable end being deformed. You can also use a pair of pliers to flatten the end of the tube that come with canned air, making an "air knife". Also make sure both the battery and ac adapter have been out for at least 10 minutes

I use a used "soft bristled" toothbrush for anything like that. Does a good job and doesnt cost anything :)
