Commerical Grade Router

Not to unnecessarily *bump* things, but are the Ubiquiti Edge Routers still the common/preferred choice? Or recommendations on an alternative that supports:
-Full Gig up/down,
-VLAN,
-QoS,
-Possibly VPN?

They are still popular, that's why I mentioned them above. VoIP providers roll out a lot of them, smaller..specialized ISPs for businesses, WISPS. There's one VoIP provider in our state, all they use are Edge* (routers and switches). They have been around longer than the Unifi lineup, more matured.

Oh please @YeOldeStonecat! We had so much going between you and me. And this! I'm hurt dude. HP? Really man! I thought we had a deep connection and I found my IT soul mate. I. HATE. HP. Always have, always will. Maybe they had one thing, at one time that worked great. I wouldn't know. They are the Sith...and I'm not falling for their Jedi mind tricks.

Hah LOL.
Yeah, back about 20 years ago...we used a LOT of them.
Lifetime warranty!
They just...lasted..ran...forever...stable...never needing that weird reboot....literally "set and forget". Replace 20 years later! Only..cuz a new speed came along, not because it died. Most of the HP Procurve switches I've thrown out in the past 10 years (hundreds of 'em)..were still running fine, we just..replaced with a more easily centrally managed product.

OK there @YeOldeStonecat, that right there my friend....this is a completely different beast. Comparing the Ubiquiti USGs to and EdgeRouter is like comparing a Toyota Corolla to a Lexus...well anything Lexus. Same company but LOTS more bells and whistles and with that...lots more in price. I don't care for the USG's but the Edgewaters.....Check out what this thing can do! But it'll cost ya!

Nah, not much price diffy. Many of the models share the same guts, ....just a different front bezel and paint job. Both run a fork of Vyatta under the hood. Unifi products just have a second OS over the top for the fancy GUI, Edge* focuses on more dials, switches, knobs to turn. Example, on UI's site, EdgeSwitch 24 250 watter POE, $399, Unifi 24 250 POE...$379.
