I think I like this game....
Is there voice chat in LFD2? If so, how do they pronounce your player name? Even without voice chat, how does someone message you in-game with a name that's not on the keyboard? I usually don't keep an ASCII chart next to me while gaming. 😁 heh.....

Yes, there is "voice chat" in L4D2 but many just use Discord. I don't/won't use voice chat for various reasons. Some people become very toxic on voice chat. I keep text chat to a minimum as well and just focus on the game. The only time I ever use voice chat is in "Friends Only" games with my Girlfriend. (Who, btw, is an incredible player.)

My name is pronounced like "App oll." Everyone just replaces the first letter with an "A."
I found that Cyrillic "A" on the Instagram Font Generator and liked it. It's hilarious because now, many people assume I'm Russian and start chatting in Russian - all because of a single letter! 🤣

"Girl gamers" (and there are plenty of them) won't use voice chat because as soon as male players hear a female voice they get weird. Same reason girl gamers don't play as the female characters because guys start being douches.

Just for fun sometimes I play as "Zoey" or "Rochelle" and because I'm an experienced player, guys (who don't know me) get all bent out of shape because they think "wow! How can a girl play this good?"
There are many female players who are incredibly experienced but guys would never admit that they could be as good - or better players - than them.

Left 4 Dead 2 is an incredible game - even after almost 15 years - and the AI Director is still marveled over by other developers.
The game has many great players. But sadly there is a toxic element (as in all online games) and I just thank the stars is not (yet) as toxic as COD or CsGO!

I'm more of a TF2 kind of guy. Engineer or Rocket Jumper (soldier). I don't seem to enjoy anything with zombies in it (although Metro Exodus was pretty good). I stay off of voice chat and discord. Has caused me a few problems over the years......

I have few to no games on Steam, most modern games don't really interest me, but I did play L4D on the Xbox I believe and loved the original until they "fixed" certain things that people liked to label as "griefing" the only one I recall that made any sense to "fix" was the sabotage of parking the hulking zombie thing. The funny thing is nearly all "griefing" was only doable as the zombie team. The attacking trash bins or heavy equipment to block a door was just good tactics vs dumb players as any smart player knew a pipe bomb grenade would blow away the obstacle in seconds and it took zombies like a minute to move them.

These are the games I actively play or have unfinished save games on I intend to go back to

PC:
Neverwinter Nights (not Enhanced Edition) online persistent world Higher Ground Paths of Ascension
Dragon Age Origins (Awakening Expansion)
South Park The Stick of Truth
Pillars of Eternity

XBOX One S:
Castle Crashers (recently picked up played back in day with friends on their consoles)

PS3:
Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch

I definitely favor PC over console particularly since I get many of y games from GOG.com where I can actually own them. I want to build a console style system and load Batocera on it and get my games put on that so I can play some of the more classic arcade or console style games on my TV. I have north of 300 games on PC between GOG.com & Amazon Games (Free PC Games for Prime members) I will admit there are plenty of unknown games and trash games in the mix due to free games just get claimed and added because why not. It has included some great free titles particularly a ton of SNK title on the Amazon Games offerings.
