I am having trouble finding the information on this. Can Dropbox plus be used in a business setting? If so how many people can log into it and share files?

Dropbox plus is a personal product. If you want more than one user you need a business plan. You can buy multiple plus licenses and share files but the business plans give you admin controls over everyone. Much more suited for business settings.

The business plan has a three person minimum. What about all of the one person businesses which do not need that much service and high cost of paying for three people? If you do not need all of the extra features, are you certain Plus is not allowed for single person businesses?

Yeah, make up your mind. One person per login, there's your answer. Dropbox and the rest are NOT DESIGNED as file share systems for companies. If you need that functionality, ditch dropbox and jump to O365. Teams / Sharepoint does the company wide file sync thing, and they get so much more for that $5 / month / person.

And don't confuse people with devices. A single login can be used for all of your devices. But the license is per user. If you give an employee access the same account then you are violating the license terms.

A business of one? Well it's still a business if it's how they make a living.

The EULA mentions O365 Solo does not have the Commercial restrictions the Personal/Home do but I've not been able to find it. I've actually never heard of it until just now reading the EULA.

I agree the business has a right to make money, it just seemed illogical that they make a person running a one person business purchase three users. They may as well say, we do not want your business unless you have multiple users in your company. I would think they would want small companies which may grow into larger ones

I’m sorry but what features does Dropbox for business offer that benefits ONE PERSON?

All the features that makes Dropbox for Business useful are for more than one person. If you are a business of one then you have no need for those features.

I agree you do not need all those features. Let's say you start out with dropbox as a home user, which I am guessing dropbox makes some money on. Then later on you start a business and like how dropbox has been working for you, but now you are no longer able to use it without breaking the eula, so now you either have to keep using the home plan while breaking the eula or pay for an expensive plan which has a three user minimum. It would be nice if they had a simple plan to transition single home users to single business users, even if it cost more but was not such overkill.

Like everyone said, OneDrive is a better choice for Windows users, but at one time I remember the syncing did not seem to work as well as dropbox. Maybe it is better now.

For what it is worth, we need something that works well on a Mac network, which I am guessing OneDrive does not

You’re mistaken there. You are allowed to use Dropbox in a business. You are not allowed to have more than one person using the same account. Dropbox for business is designed to address that need.

Yeah, OneDrive is great. One of the amazing things about Microsoft losing the mobile OS market was this wonderful pressure to force them into actually cooperating with everyone. What that's resulted in is a set of technology centered in Azure that's almost OS agnostic. OneDrive is just one of them, and it works beautifully.
