Hey everyone I am fairly new to Technibble, but I wanted to get some input on what you all thought of my logo and website.
I have attached the logo (ignore the white), it is also on my website as well.

Website:
heptechutah.com

Thank you in advance!

Looks good. What did you use to make it?

Also, I work from home/mobile as well, and maybe someone else can chime in on this as well, do you find any issues with customers coming by? Either by neighbors/city/wife/etc?

If anything I would say the Yellow-green of HEP is too close to the green of TECH... on lesser quality screens the color differences is indistinguishable, it is only very slightly differing in color on my dual 24" IPS monitor setup.

Just curious, not criticizing, but why "HEP"? Initials? At first I thought it was "Help", and then the bad side of me was trying to figure it out and came up with "hempTech" ;)

I would certainly be adding more content to each of your services pages, maybe a bulleted listing of particular services, lots of SEO to do.

I had a marketing company create the logo, and I paid a friend of mine to design and build the site.

Djyox: I dont have any issues with customers coming by. no issues with neighbors, city or anyone else. I sure am tired of working from home and would love to get an office space but I dont get enough business to justify the overhead of an office. but by having an office it would also allow me with more working room to handle more business at once.

phaZed: my nickname is "Hep" because of my last name. I've had it forever and I just put the two together haha. Not sure if you noticed on my services page but if you click on any of the services it does a pull down with more info. what more content would you suggest or recommend adding to the services page?

I would just put like a bullet-list of items relating to each of your services, underneath your short paragraphs, something like:

(ex.Laptop Services)

Besides our entire list of computer services offered, we also offer specialized laptop repairs. No
matter what is wrong with your laptop – from replacing a broken screen or keyboard, to repairing
overheating issues – you can count on HepTech to make repairs in a timely manner in order to
get you up and running again.

  • Broken LCD Screens
  • Hinge repairs
  • Overheating issues fixed
  • keyboards replaced
  • viruses removed

...or something like that. You may want to make it bold as to summarize the individual services within a broader menu item and make it easy to see.. people browsing the site usually won't read paragraphs, but will quickly skim it looking for their particular problem. If you have their problem "Right There", out in the open they are usually more likely to act. It will also help with SEO a bit, especially if you can list the same service a different way... "laptop screens replaced" and "LCD screen repair" are the same service, but are both different search terms for the same thing. Incorporating both, one in the paragraph and one in a list may help with SEO.

I found that on Internet Explorer the drop down for services is hard to use. When you move down to select a service if you go to slow the drop down closes. I believe it is due to a gap between the services button and the drop down itself. I have attached an image to show you the gap. This gap is not present in Chrome.

One thing to watch for is legal use of photos. The photo you have in the right side column (the guy at the laptop, smiling at the camera) is one that is available for sale at:
istockphoto.com/stock-photo-8353249-casual-business.php

Just mentioning this because you said you had someone else create the site for you. If that person just lifted pictures from Google images, you will end up paying the price for it. Getty Images business model is to search the web for sites using their pictures without permission, and sending an invoice for $700 (or more). And there is no way of getting out of paying that bill.

Not saying that's what happened, but if you're not sure, better to play it safe. If it were me, I would ask the web guy to show a receipt that he bought the image (so you can show it in case you need to later on).

phaZed: Thanks you for the input as far as the services and SEO, I will get those added.

jrl2222: Thank you very much I appreciate you noticing that. I will have them fix that. did you happen to notice anything else that might not work or looked properly?

pctutor: I know all the images were purchased from istockphoto, I purchased them myself and provided them to the designer. That is something the designer told me about and im glad I did not just taking a photo and using it.

The website looks decent. Might consider a couple of things.

On your Services page, the plain list of services is a little too plain. Personally I'd like to see and image/icon with a very brief explanation right there on that page rather than a list of links.

On my computer I have google voice, and it has made a link of your phone number. Shows up in a difficult to read blue and on two lines.

I lived in Utah for many years, back in the days when Dell "SuperDell" was a daily headline, along with his laptop sidekick, Dan. They were good comic relief back in the day. I know Dell's moved onto weapons and light aircraft violations. Is Dan still around?

Did you notice on the services page if you click on the services it will bring down more info? Ill look into the phone # along with google voice.

yea Dan is still around with PC laptops, they are quite the operation here in Utah now!

Yes, I noticed the drop down when the link was hit. I just feel like the page is pretty prior to selecting a service, and not a whole ton better after. Course, that is just one man's opinion.

I like your webpage.

The phone number gets a bit lost at the top there though. There's nothing that really makes it stand out. Links page is obviously blank. Other than that, great job!
