I've been reading about GFI & GFI Max the software seems interesting to me and I would actually like to give their products a try. Just looking for some general feedback on the company and their products. Is the software worth it. Is GFI a good company. Is their Remote management GFI Max good or should i use another for remote services.. Well any input on this is welcomed thanks

TS

I use it and do just fine with it. Remote Access is via Team Viewer and I've never had an issue with it. Max is not as comprehensive as other solutions but that also makes it cheaper and easier to manage. As with anything YMMV.

Ooooh Ok I get it now.. So would you recommend I use this software for my remote services and become a partner with GFI/Max I have experience with GFI products webmonitor/mailessentials etc.. but not much with Max

Just try the trial. Listen to their sales pitch, and dscide yourself.

We use it for residential, and its actually really good. We did a test with a small business client, but nable does better for businessss

Curious as to what NAble does better? I used Level Platforms in past (now owned by AVG) which was on same level of NABle and I find GFI doing all I need right now.

Some things I found a little lacking but hasn't caused any issues.

FWIW I'm currently using CentraStage and liking it, BUT it wants to use VNC or RDP for the remote control, which isn't awesome.

I need to try GFI but haven't gotten around to it. I dislike pitches and not being shown prices up front, which is why I didn't initially go with them several months ago. I see now that the prices are front-and-center.

I'm still a customer of GFI so I can't disclose their prices but I will say that adding TV into the mix does not affect the max-price-per-workstation. It's part of the RMM set, unlike backup and AV which are additional charges.

The pricing for GFI is pretty fair - pay as you go instead of a minimum amount upfront. Although I know others on the forum here differ, I have found GFI's Vipre antivirus to work pretty well. The antivirus is becoming a pretty easy upsell to my customers, especially as I am trying to move them away from Microsoft Security Essentials. Also, keep in mind that if you are an ACRBO member, you get either a 10% or a 20% disount, so if you can offer your customers a decent antivirus product that only costs you a little bit each month, that can become a good revenue stream.

stonecat you can get a free agent for audit purposes but with that you can also install a taskbar icon that you can customise

I meant like batches of them so you can do "basic" stuff with some clients for no cost. Like if you want a basic presence for a smaller network you onboarded...N-Able has an "essentials" agent which gives you basic asset info and several remote functions. Doesn't perform higher end stuff like patch management...but allows you to get a list of assets and remote to someone for support. Every time we do some bulk purchases with N-Able...they toss in a big bag of more free agents...like we have over 10000 free agents available right now. 100 Professional, over 500 antivirus, over 400 patch manager, etc. We have near 100 businesses listed in our N-Able...not all of them pay for agents.
