GFI & GFI Max

We did a long search for a monitoring product, and ended up going with GFI MAX. What we really liked about it is you don't need to buy any licenses up front (it seems like all of the others we looked at required an upfront purchases of say, 50 or 100 licenses)

We've been using it for about 8 months or so, and while its not perfect, it works very well. We've been pushing the managed anti virus for our residential customers with a decent rate of success. All of our managed business clients are on GFI and use managed anti virus. The team viewer remote access works very well.

I'd recommend giving it a shot, they have a free trial I believe.

I meant like batches of them so you can do "basic" stuff with some clients for no cost. Like if you want a basic presence for a smaller network you onboarded...N-Able has an "essentials" agent which gives you basic asset info and several remote functions. Doesn't perform higher end stuff like patch management...but allows you to get a list of assets and remote to someone for support. Every time we do some bulk purchases with N-Able...they toss in a big bag of more free agents...like we have over 10000 free agents available right now. 100 Professional, over 500 antivirus, over 400 patch manager, etc. We have near 100 businesses listed in our N-Able...not all of them pay for agents.

Hi Stoney,

GFI do not have an equivalent of the N-Able essentials license. The licensing on GFI is:

'Free' end point for the purpose of auditing
'Free' endpoint if you are only installing MAV
All 'Functional' (as you and I understand it in N-Able terms) are at a cost.

They do have reporting thrown into the equation, which is far better than the standard N-Able reporting feature, but nowhere near as good as Report Manager.
