Good mobile phone

I was hanging onto my Motorola Droid 4 for the longest time. Finally I caved and got a Samsung S4 mini. I like this phone, but dreadfully miss the slide out keyboard of the Motorola.

If anyone comes out with a decent slide-out keyboard smart phone, I will buy it in a heartbeat. I hate the touchscreen keyboard.

Big fan of the Google Nexus series. Has everything you expect on a smartphone without the manufacturer's crap. Plus: very affordable.

I got a nexus 5 a while back. I love it. it is the best phone ever. Google now is the best. The price was 350 new.. Not having any of the crap ware the is no real need to root(for me at least). It can out least year and it still can stand it ground from most new phones. Honestly how may phones can say that?

I'm with you there. I love my Nexus 5 and Google Now. Vanilla Android KitKat is fantastic, and you can depend on getting updates quickly.

Note 3. I stopped using my tablet once I got it.

I also heard this year we will be getting 7 inch cell phones. I for one will be looking forward to it.

I'm an iPhone user myself but I must say, the S5 Active looks pretty awesome. If you are into Android you may wanna give it a look. It's rugged and even water proof to a certain degree.

I've owned the previous model, an S4 Active, since about the day they were released, probably nearly 12 months ago now.

I don't use it as a phone -- not that there's anything wrong with it as a phone -- I use one of several old 6310i phones that I own for that (as I mentioned previously).

The S4 Active is a great device, though for me it's more of a portable computer than a phone. When working, I use it for remote assistance/access sessions (via ScreenConnect, RDP or VNC) and general mobile internet connectivity (directly or via tethering). The main reason I chose it though was for how I use it on my days off. I frequently go on long hikes, in all sorts of weather, over fields and moorlands, for which it's perfect. The GPS is very sensitive and great for all-terrain navigation and the reassurance of water/drop resistance is a big bonus. Battery life is poor with GPS enabled, as you'd expect, but I carry an external portable battery pack to overcome that limitation.
