It's not as good as Syclosofts TigerDog web browser :D

It's got a small memory footprint, but that could all change as soon as they add more features. It's a bit basic at the moment - I can't even find the "Incognito" mode.

not too bad but i dont think i will be replacing firefox or opera anytime soon.
but at least it works unlike some other browsers that have been discussed lately.

hi simmy have you found the "incognito" mode yet its rather pleasant to know that the girls in the office do not know every where i am going to.;););)

ctrl+shift+n switches it on or off.

I think you guys are looking at it all wrong. Its not meant to be a Firefox/Opera replacement. Its designed to do what Google did back when it first came out.

Back then, search engines like Yahoo! were pages and pages of directories, content etc.. Google just create a simple white page with a search box.

Its the simplicity which will make it great. I mean, think of your current clients.. How many of them are the type that type web addresses in the Google search box rather than the actual address bar?

Many of my home based clients get so confused about the buttons in IE and FF. All they really know how to use is forward, back and refresh which is the only buttons that Google Chrome shows.

Its not aimed at us technicians who cant get our many Firefox plugins running, its aimed at those people who struggle with basic surfing.

On another note:
Damn its Javascript is fast. Run this test in IE/FF and Chrome and look at the times:

Google Chrome.

I have to say, this browser is awesome. I have now quit using IE7. Although there still are some kinks that need to be worked out, obviously. Kind of a resource hog. But, give it a try! :)

I have been messing around with Google Chrome for the past hour, and so far, I haven't had one problem. The best feature, I think, is if there is an error on a page, it will close that tab only. Pure genius, so many times IE7 or Firefox crashes. The Incognito function is the "paper" icon, next to the address bar, click, "New Incognito Window".

I like the fact, you can save your passwords & stuff as you delete the cache history, and the cookies. I think it's a brilliant design for home users, it's so simple. Another feature I like, is when you first open it, it saves your most visited pages. It's just straight sexy. :D Google is taking over the world...

*The thread was merged with another one I started, I didn't see this one, so that's why I have back 2 back posts.

You should have quit using IE a long time ago.

Well my dad has always been anal about putting programs on his computer, so I just got in a habit of using IE. You know how older people are, they want things the way they want it. I remember I put Firefox on his, and he about had a fit. But yea, I think Google Chrome is better than Firefox, just my opinion.

I like that you can click and drag tabs in and out of windows make new windows from a tab or move a tab to another open instance.

Chrome is very fast to load webpages i cant fault it, it maybe a bit basic but thats the beauty of it. it does everything a browser should :)

I don’t think anyone with any reasonable amount of intelligence will want to use it after this news gets around…

DO NOT INSTALL CHROME UNTIL YOU READ THE “TERMS OF USE” FOR IT CLOSELY!!! …Unless, you don’t mind having your privacy invaded, giving up your intellectual property rights, and getting unwanted advertising shoved down your throat.

You do know that FireFox does this too, right?

So far I'm impressed with it. Pages load fast, there isn't a lot of onscreen fluff and there is more viewable website realestate. It also seems to be taking up about 1k less memory than FF 3.0.1.

Not too bad so far. I can't wait to really put it through its paces.

Gee, Chrome, another browser to play with. Millions of guinea pigs testing this new software out for Google.

It doesn't make my life any more productive and my clients will experience problems and ask ME for tech support on it. My response will be it's new and in beta, so I don't recommend it at this point but use it if you must.

I will wait six months before I start to take it seriously. I don't see why we need another one at this point.

I used Chrome for about five minutes, then went back to FireFox.
The rendering engine doesn't have a "true" zoom feature. I do some casual, lazy web surfing from my couch on my media center/lcd tv and use FF3 to zoom in to display text and images so I can actually read them.
When I zoom in on chrome, it just enlarges the text, while keeping images and all other elements the same size messing up the layout of the page.

I just installed it on another system, it might work better on a regular sized screen...
