Anyone heard any rumors on a release of Chrome for a Mac? Thx in advance!

There don't have to be rumors. Google has said that they're making a version of Chrome for linux and mac, it's just not done at this point.

LoL Google Chrome just crashed on me. I had Chrome open with a couple of tabs open then had a incognito window open. Then all of a sudden I get a message saying whoa google chrome has just crashed. It is fast at some things but it seems like it lags sometimes when trying to go to another tab from a tab that is having problems. I also am not use to the open in new tab being at the top where as in FF its the second one from the top.
I am with most of everyone else on giving it 6 or so months then see how it is.

A browser is a browser

I applaud Google for making the effort. You have to start somewhere. I think Google needed this platform to expand their business and it makes a lot of sense for them to start at point "A", make the browser of their dreams and start adding to it. It seems to have all the plugins, etc. When all is said and done for 99% of the world a browser is just a browser. Maybe we'll eventually have less problems with malware, etc.

I quite liked it but as expected its still buggy. I found a flash movie wouldnt load but it loaded fine under Firefox. It also desperately needs themes.

The concept though is good. Web browsing direct off the server has to have benefits.

My main concern with it is the privacy aspect. Google already has access to enough personal data. The potential impact for misuse of this data only increases with its new browser. Its something that I will look into further before I would consider using it as my main web viewer, once it has its bugs ironed out.

I don't know if was the site or the browser making that message.

If I want simple and user friendly, I'll stick with my Safari. Opera is my main browser so I'll be sticking to that (a great RSS feed manager, torrent manager, and IRC support). Maybe Chrome won't have RSS feeds since Google has a feed service already? I see the goal of Chrome, but it's not for me (and I uninstalled it and started getting update messages which I guess means there are still files on my computer).

This new browser will likely hurt Firefox the most since they're both "alternative" browsers.

meh ...

Using it right now but on lots of sites my bills are on it does not work correctly. Also was using to fill out some online resumes and it crashed. Overall I like the look and feel. Not too sure about the integrated download manager ... it's just a little different than what I'm used to. My browser of choice is usually Opera.

I prefer the Opera way since it supports torrents. Makes it easier to view and manage.

There are some things it just will not do but I have started using it more regularly and found it to be smoking fast compared to IE. No surprise there. I'm still figuring it out but so far, I'm impressed.

Edit: I really like the ability to drag a tab out of the main browser window. Often when I am researching I will run multiple browser windows with several tabs, each relating to a different issue. The ability to drag tabs back and forth makes it easier to keept things organized.

No

It has no sense of security at all. I don't like it at all. Especially when the fix bugs found within the 1st week and google refused to say what they fix, makes me wonder.

I will stick to my FF.
any one know where the name " chrome" came from?;)
