Except in Albuquerque, New Mexico where the red light means speed up and ignore it like you're the only driver on the road. Particularly if you're turning left. Slowing down when the light turns red just shows fear and encourages those awful drivers that have a green light to start rolling.

Alternatively, when you have a green light, you launch into the intersection to take control of it and force the red-lighters to surrender the road.

Sometimes it's so astounding that I think I should save my dashcam footage. But then I think, nah it's not unusual enough to be worth it.

A few years ago the city installed red light cameras at certain intersections. Actually having to obey the traffic lights was so traumatizing to the good citizens of our city, that after a couple of years they went into full revolt and the cameras had to be removed.
 
They once asked me if I wanted to test drive a truck that runs "bio matter," I told them no because I might flood the engine every time I eat Mexican, but when I run out of gas there might not be anyone around to give me a jump fart.
