Our roads are so bad, people actually blow tires hitting potholes.

We're pretty lucky here in the suburbs, but that didn't stop me from hitting a $1,000 pothole one rainy night last fall. Tire + Rim + ABS Sensor + Alignment. And of course we had friends in the car at the time. I complained to the municipality just to make me feel better - ha. I'm sure they got right on that.

Same thing with a car I used to have. It wasn't rainy, tho. It was broad daylight but the shade from a power pole hid the 8-10" deep pothole. Blew my passenger front tire and actually bent the axle. About $2,000 worth of work at the time. The car was only about a year old, barely broke in, so it irritated me to no end.
