Hey Guys

I'm wondering if anyone here knows how to get an iPhone 4 out of recovery mode. My brother's phone went into recovery mode the day after his son's karate championship. He has three videos from that event that he really needs.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried iPhonerecoveryfix.exe and it didn't help. His phone has a USB cable to iTunes logo on the screen.

Strange it would just happen. This normally would happen in the middle of a update when connection is lost. For instance the phone gets dis connected from the computer

He was actually in Chicago without a computer at the time. When he got to the airport it happened.

There is a thread called
"iPhone 4 Help please!!" look there as that is the same advice that I would give you for this situation.

The only difference is your battery is good.

my comment is what you need to try. Please update when you have tried it.

I did check out that thread before posting. We did all those things including plugging into a iMac and a PC without iTunes. Thanks for your help.

Download RedSnow from idownloadblog, there's an option button there to get out of recovery mode.

Edit: Just read the date a little late.

But you didn't notice it was on, like, page 13 of the forum? :)

FWIW, I've found that you need to be using an XP system. When I was trying to get my old iphone out of recovery mode, I could not do it on my 7 box; I had to use my XP bench box.

Redsnow works better than iTunes. Yeah I use tapatalk on iphone so I don't see page numbers.

Have you looked into using TinyUmbrella or their "Fix Recovery" application?

It can be found here:
http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/

On the right menu there is a list of downloads, you'll be most interested in one of the last two (depending on your OS).

If you need help running the app I would search youtube, its a great resource!
