Is Windows the Best ?

GEOS, rings a bell.

GEOS was known as the poor man's windows. I think it was under $50 back in the day. It's main competition was Win 3.1 but after Win32 came out, it pretty much spelled soon as even back then Win32 already hosted such a wide variety of apps.

I used to run it. If I recall, they had a few native apps, but they were few and not really that useful. I don't even think they had a calculator.

They mimicked the Mac OS effect when opening an app that a box outline would form around the app icon and enlarge to the entire screen if memory serves.

So basically it was high on looks but very short on functional.

Best yes, it breaks and almost every single of one of us relies on that to keep our business alive lol

But Windows itself breaks a lot less frequently these days than it once did. I can't recall the last time I had a service call that was related to Windows 10 itself breaking.

The vast majority (for some value of, as business is and remains very down these days) of my business surrounds networking issues, peripheral issues, and application software issues (or not knowing how to use something correctly), or setting "smart things" up, as opposed to Windows 10 having crashed and burned. It's not that it never happens, but it sure doesn't happen nearly as much as it did for Windows 7 and earlier. I have had almost no calls on Windows 8/8.1, but I chalk that up to how poorly accepted it was.

About 90% of my clients are break/fix with no managed updates and first thing I do is update Windows and Office, that seems to fix a lot of little snags in Outlook. I'm just saying this because it's all I do is Outlook. The 10% that are on a MSP plan, still don't have updates done and I run them and if that fails, I tell them to call their MSP and update them because of the Outlook snags. I still have to say it's Windows that breaks the most, even if it's updates. I don't see as many orange frozen screens as I used to and that's a huge relief. Systems are much more reliable than they used to be. SSD drives also make my work so much better.
