Solution: this silicone case for 2.5" HDDs.

Girlfriend has a black 4TB Western Digital My Passport USB 3.0 HDD. I want to get for it a bumper to better protect it. Not having luck finding a good option. It seems there are plenty of options for portable SSDs, but not HDDs. It's a thicker HDD, so that could possibly make it incompatible with certain bumpers.

Edit: this is more for protecting the cosmetics of the HDD.

I don't understand the purpose of these. If it gets bumped, bumper or not, your data is at risk. Better to spend your energy on educating her on how fragile the drive is and to not move or jostle it at any time.
I have one on my Sammy T7 Shield to protect it from getting scratched or busted. I'm a big fan of keeping stuff scratch-free. Her HDD already has scratches, but a bumper would help prevent more of them.

Agree with the first statement, but not with the second. External HDDs have been designed to gracefully handle the usual jostles both of transit, and getting bumped (sometimes off a table/desk edge, and hanging by their cord) when in use.

I cannot count the number of "knocks while in use" I've actually had, myself, when an external HDD (that's meant to be portable) is in use and never a single bit lost. These things are NOT fragile, not by a long shot. And that doesn't mean I encourage intentional abuse, but we have to stop encouraging excessive caution and panic when "the slightest little bump" happens. The folks that created these things to be carried hither and yon and used in "less than perfect" environments knew exactly what was likely to happen.
