Hi All,
Not sure where this topic fits but here goes.
Like most of you, I have lots of clients that I sometimes wish I could just leave a remote system plugged into their network that monitors simple things like network uptime, power outages, and allows me to remote in.
In some cases, a Meraki or comparable system fills in a lot of these gaps, but not every location has the budget for such a network. And not every network has a dedicated server for RDP / TS access.
I'd like to be able to use LogMeIn or RDP to log in and take a look around.
In many cases, I've left mac mini's, laptops, and other desktops behind... but these aren't cheap solutions (and sometimes grow legs and leave the site). Also, I don't really want to maintain a fleet of disparate systems.
Anyone have a thin client solution that works without much in the way of setup?
I've used some remote monitoring devices that were in and of themselves cheap, but the software licensing for the cloud access was $1200 / year / device... yikes!
Anyone have an interesting solution?
What do you guys do for these types of sites / situations?
Thank you for any and all feedback / input.
