Good day to all,

I have a 13" Macbook which have some white lines in the middle of the screen from top the bottom. My cousin said he think he accidentally sat on it or drop it. Its out of warranty so am working on a fix. So far I've tested the RAM, Batteries and hard drive Which seems to be fine. So now am thinking that the problem might be the logic-board or video cable or screen. What do you guys think is causing the problem?

Have a look at some pics:

That's a broken LCD for sure, suggest that you can replace it if you think you can manage...we get tons of broken Macbooks at school...

The retina displays are worse to replace :-P

Another vote for busted screen. But if you want to know how to figure it out yourself, disconnect the LVDS cable (or display data cable) and plug in minidisplayport to VGA/DVI adapter and with no internal display connected, the machine will automatically switch to external video with correct screen resolution without having to fumble through system preferences blindfolded and mirror to external. Then if you've ever diagnosed a video issue before, you should know where to go from there.

Hook the computer up to an external display via the mini display port.

If there is no lines that will automatically eliminate the motherboard and video card leaving the display data cable or lcd. Hope this helps.
