I have been using office 365 E3 plan a couple of years now and recently decided to purchase the MAP with the discounts I found thanks to the forums here came out to the same price I was paying. Anyway long story short I have the MAP office 365 E3 subscription added to my account but it's showing that I now have 2 E3 subscriptions, the MAP is annual and I am paying the other monthly giving me a total of 6 Licenses.

Being that I purchased the MAP product I was hoping I could cancel the single E3 plan, I decided to contact Microsoft support before removing it incase I loose my data. Well the Microsoft rep I was connected to hadn't heard of the MAP product and couldn't help much also the team which may have been able to help is gone for the weekend.

I have to wait until Tuesday to find out if the single plan can be removed, also I have read through the Partner agreement and there is a chance I have to keep both subscriptions to be compliant.

I figured I would check here to see if anyone in the forum has added the MAP office 365 E3 product to an existing office 365 E3 plan and was able to remove the single plan without issue.

Thanks,
Orlando

I had a trial E3 account but never did anything with it. I was able to add my MAP E3 to that account. Inside the MAP area there is something about redeaming licenses. At some point it asked me if I wanted to add my MAP E3 to an existing account or create a second one and I selected add to existing.

This whole M$ licensing thing can be so confusing sometimes. More than once I've had to call into support to figure things. Just wait until Tuedays and give them a call. They've always been helpful.

Thank you for the reply Mark and yes during the setup there was a link to an existing office 365 account which added the 2nd E3 subscription. I think the trials eventually cancel unless upgraded, I'll see what comes up Tuesday hopefully won't have to pay for both subscriptions.

It should just be a matter of reassigning the new license to your current paid user, under the user account, on your Office 365 admin portal.
Once you've done that you can go to the subscription section and cancel your paid license so you don't get billed for it any more.

I think from memory when you cancel the subscription out of the Admin Console in Office 365- it will still remain there as deactivated, then you will get emails about it being deleted ect. However your action pack e3 license should show up in the console so you should be able to assign the licenses to your mailboxes.

Contact Microsoft O365 Support. Tell them that you have purchased an annual subscription, and that you wish to cancel the existing subscription.

Thank you everyone for the responses to this issue, didn't realize I was still getting post to this question. Anyway this has been resolved, I heard back from the MS Rep and the single plan was removed from my account and so far all seems to be good. Yes I am getting the constant emails about setting up email etc, I am now enjoying the added benefits and hope to put to good use.
