Milage Tracking

thanks Martyn, does it offer exact date range reports?

How do you mean? I have my mileage reports for the last 2 years saved in the application. I have Hobit 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and i need to complete 2014 - 2015. Yes you define the dates, I have each tax year April to March

aCar. It tracks more than mileage. I use it to record all maintenance on my car. You can export the data to excel and do with it what you want.

Does aCar start tracking on connection to bluetooth? Pretty useful to auto connect to car radio and start tracking from there.

We have the company pay for all gas. We just give our office manager our odometer reading at the first of each month, and the company factors in the federal mileage reimbursement rates against 80% of the mileage of each month....and wash that against what was paid for in gas that month, and the remaining cash is given to the staff. Accountants don't argue about 20% of the total mileage being for personal use. It's "close enough" and keeps it easy.

thanks everyone.

just bit the bullet and trialling the paid for version of triplog. so far seems to do the strange length of reports required as need to be able to print of reports that match up with each petrol invoice so it could be weekly or could be couple of days (i know not needed and would be so much easier if just claimed mileage allowance flat rate but for reasons outwith a public forum that's unfortunately not an option)

Tracking mileage... Hum, there In the UK, can't you just send in a request for your total annual business mileage to the GCHQ? Or does it take too long to get a written response? :):D:)

Expensify - www.expensify.com

Not only tracks mileage, but also all other business expenses, which can be put into a weekly/monthly report. Can set it up so that your accountant/book keeper also has access.

Available on: Web, iPhone, Android, Blackberry (android port), Windows Phone.

Caroline, your probably losing out on a fair amount of mileage allowance by doing that even a simple 1 mile detour every day is £164 your not putting in your pocket
Oh dear! I don't have much data on my mobile contract though... Perhaps I should just add on a few miles :) - just doing my tax return!

The one I linked runs off GPS locally. Doesn't use much data from what I've seen! I'm pretty much paying my wages tax free from it as we aren't earning more than my fuel allowance at the moment!

Ouch! Are you claiming 40p/Mile? I think that is all we are allowed to claim according to HMRC
