This is the second time this exact scenario happens.
Client comes in with a damaged LCD (screen busted, image showing). I buy a new LCD and install it. It's a small laptop and there is only one cable going to the screen from the motherboard so no separate inverter.
New LCD shows an image but no backlight! I change back to the old, broken screen, shows nothing! No image and no backlight where there was before.
I'm 100 % sure that I didn't damage anything physically while swapping these out. What is happening? I can only think of static electricity since I dont use an LSD bracelet but c'mon that's gotta be the lowest of the low chances right?
LCD replacements used to be my favorite type of repair because it's fast and easy but now I don't know anymore.
