Current generation Apple devices do not have SSDs in them. If they have replaceable flash, that's literally all it is!
The M series chips have the NVME controller built into the CPU. So where are you getting an M.2 card that's nothing but NAND flash?
Oh...and if that NAND flash is blank you need ANOTHER MAC to reimage the thing.
