Just in the past week, seen 3x small businesses get whacked.
1x small family owned construction company....in town. Heard their IT guy didn't have backup setup for them, or...maybe wasn't monitoring it and ...it perhaps stalled a long time ago. Friend of mine gave them my card, no call yet. //shrug.
1x little "remediation" company also in town, like 3x people company...(address water damage, smoke damage, mold, etc)
And...a company we had as a client years ago, until they brought in their own in house IT guy.....they actually made headlines in quite a few online resources, including Bleeping Computer....they paid the 1 million ransom...ugh.
