Got a Lenovo Legion 7 laptop [Ryzen 9, RTX 3080 16GB, 16GB DDR4-3200MHz, 2TB Samsung 980 Pro [upgrade]] - Only paid $1,619 thanks to my friend's employee discounts
I want to upgrade to 32GB.
What do you recommend?
So far I am leaning on Kingston FURY Impact. It's CAS 20.
A single 32GB module is dual rank and a 32GB (2x16GB) kit is single rank.
I'm assuming that I need to go 2x16 for best performance as it'll be in dual channel mode.
The best performance would come from a 64GB kit with two dual rank 32GB modules, but that's overkill for me.
Can I sell my stock RAM after upgrading or should I keep it in case I have to ever send it in for warranty repairs? I think Lenovo lets you state on the repair form if you have any RAM upgrades so perhaps they won't mess with it.
