Hi,

I am trying to install Panda Internet Security 2009 onto a clients machine and it tells me that I must first uninstall PC Cillin Antivirus.

No big deal, thats normal- well PC Cillin is not installed on the machine, it seems to be purely registry related. How can I repair the registry to make it show that PC Cillin is not installed?

I have tried PCCTools.exe from trend micro but it does not uninstall anything, infact I do not even know what version of PC Cillin was on the system.

I tried using Glary's to repair the registry but that did not solve the problem. Thanks for any help you can provide!

See thats the thing, I have no idea what version was installed, there is absolutely no information available on the system for clues either.

The windows installer cleanup is a great utility however it failed in this case( did not detect it ).

I gave that a shot a no luck, the machine was connected to a DNS at somepoint. Perhaps its something leftover from the server?

I removed every instance I could find in the registry, maybe I missed something, I will look again.

Unfortunately Trend has become much like Norton..bloated, ineffective, and a pain in the ass to remove..

You could try JV Power Tools to locate & remove any traces of the software..though looking at their website it appears it may be 'paid' software now so Im not sure how well it works without a key..
