RepairShopr Testimonial

Yeah I did, I went through 2 people trying to get this thing escalated but no dice. :(

They are super careful due to all the "online computer repair scams" - ie, fake microsoft tech support, etc.

The "having a physical store" is a nice way for them to segment those out I guess

In RepairShopr if you are a US based user, Vantiv(Mercury) is a really good integration, and really good price - fwiw for others reading this
mobile card reader/swiper, no contracts, no monthly fees, better price structure than square..

Any plans for a uk equivalent? Gocardless is awesome for recurring payments and stored payment details.

I have some clients that are largely mobile like me...are they stuck with Square, et. al? The outfit you mentioned seemed to be only for physical stores.

Are there any plans for Android support, or is it "Just use a browser?"

Yes, probably later this year! (Once we are done with ios, we are going to port it)

I believe our invoicing & Vantiv(mercury) works well as a square replacement, not nearly as simple - like, in iOS you need a customer & invoice to be able to swipe for a payment. In Square you can create an invoice in like a few seconds, it takes a bit more work in RS because it hasn't been streamlined as a POS on the app yet.

But - if you have an invoice already when you show up, you can find it and swipe just as fast as in square imo

Also - yes, we do plan to add gocardless, it seems everyone in the UK can't stop telling us how much they love it :)

And yeah, it's going slow because we would probably redo a bit of how our recurring stuff works.

I would say maybe this year.

We switched from LightSpeed POS in September and although Repairshopr has its downfalls they have fixed a few and have a few new modules releasing soon that should really help.

We have 3 retail locations and commercial oniste pushing around 600 tickets a month and obviously alot of new customers, PO's, vendors, etc... Added check sheets for in and out testing and such

Feel free to pm me or email me and we can setup a call if easier I can always do a screen share and show how it looks when in full use.

Overall excellent, look forward to the continued improvements.

Repairshopr is absolutely fantastic. :)

Used to use PCRT but repairshopr is so much slicker in every way, and the discounts with Cloudberry is well worth it!!

For the apps, I'm going to throw a suggestion in while it's (maybe) not too late to be a factor: The apps should allow for use with multiple RepairShopr accounts, possibly with a restriction of no more than one unpaid account. I figure if you're not too far along that may be something that can be built-in with a lot less trouble than it'd be adding it later.

The two scenarios I see offhand with this: People doing some work for someone using RepairShopr but as a side thing or as a local body contracted when remote won't do the trick, and people possibly starting up their own side company and possibly preparing to leave the place they're at. Given the modern "gig" nature of things, that second one could be useful in bringing new people to RepairShopr as they're just starting out.

I'm using MHelpDesk, but thought I would list my pet peeves with their mobile app in case the developers care about those things...

1. Take a look at the number of steps required to create & finalize and invoice. Try hard to cut those steps in half. How many taps and searches are required. Can you make it less? Can the user assign some "Defaults" to help streamline the process for common calls?

2. Make offline access possible. Mobile by definition means that you sometimes won't have internet access. There should be a usability choice other than "none".

3. Make changes to stored data able to update that stored data. For example, if you find out the customer has a new email address when you get to the point of emailing their copy of the invoice, Make that newly-entered email automatically update the customer record. Same for address, etc. Extra points for integrating with Google contacts and google calendar for android folks.

4. Make it simple to view history when you are onsite. Make it easy for the tech to answer questions like: What did I do the last time I was here? When did I install that new router? How much did I charge you last year when you had that infection? This should be an automatically-populating repeating table, not a cumbersome search project on a 4-inch (or 6-inch, or 10-inch) screen.

Just my 2 cents!

Ha ha! Yeah...the mobile app is a bit rough...I mentioned some of the problems I was having with it when I paid them a visit a couple years ago. I kept hoping it would get better...

Are you guys talking about the mhelpdesk app or the repairshopr one??

(The repairshopr one does work offline for whatever data you've recently viewed, and you can download the entire customer list for offline)

I don't have an Apple device yet so can't comment :P

Is android on the table yet?

That would be great (to have an Android app). We've had two instances this week where our Internet went down and as luck would have it, the customers came in to pick up their computers. Our Internet is mostly reliable but we were in a jam when customers came in to pick up systems and we couldn't pull them up. We started printing the invoices ahead of time now just in case the Internet falls out and customers need to pick up their equipment.

Where is NWI? I'll suggest that for desperate situations you may be able to tether through a phone depending on carrier lockdown.

I was even able to do it with remarkable ease on my OpenWRT router by simply telling the router to look for a Wifi network to connect to as a client. Surprised me when it "just worked."

We hear about people using their cell phones to use RepairShopr during internet outages, you can still email receipts to people. If you tethered one computer you could also print in a jam..
