We are trouble shooting a new computer upgrade that a client did, which will not post. We ruled out ram and peripherals. I know with intel boards you have to do a bios update to make many new processors work(in his case it is an older proc). The client has a MEG X570 Ace board and a Ryzen 3 2200g proc. Looking at the compatibility list, the proc is okay, but there is a bios update to make the Ryzen 3 2200g work.
We have a Ryzen 5 1400 which is not listed as compatible and does not work with the motherboard. I was thinking about getting the Ryzen 3 3200g as it is listed as compatible and use that to update the bios. Ideally we would be able to use this again in another job doing the same thing.
Do you think that this is a good path?
On a side note, Is that odd that a Ryzen 5 1400 is not compatible?
