Knew I shouldn't have come in Sunday.

One of our techs was working on a Samsung NP305V (Win 7) yesterday - viruses. Normal routine - 1)backup HDD 2) Load d7. System only will boot up in Safe mode. He tried EVERYTHING in d7, also checked msconfig - was set to boot in safe mode - unchecked it and rebooted. Same thing and the Safe Mode was still checked. Aughhhh.

I come in today. I look at it. He had backed everything up so in desperation (and after trying different things) re-imaged it. Works great.

I go to the input table. Pickup another Samsung NP300E. Complaint - slow, viruses. Same routine as above - backup and d7. Reboots into the Safe Mode. Exact same thing but the box isn't checked in msconfig.

Any ideas????????????????????????????????????

I Googled but nothing particular to Samsung.

Two in a row.

Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention I did check the d7 setting for Safe Mode.

What blows us away is why 2 Samsungs with identically the same problem. My d7 works on four other computers I worked on today with no problem and Bob work on a number of units Saturday with no problem EXCEPT the Samsung.

I know it must be something simple and maybe I am reading too much into the Samsung thing. But he worked on 7 computers Sat and I worked on 4 today and only the Samsungs did it.

Thanks for everyone's reply though.
