Hi there,

I'm looking for software to make it quicker to produce my work notes. As I work on a machine I make a set of notes which are given to the customer. Most times, these notes...

Start with...
Booted to
Installed
Ran
Reran
Updated
Rebooted

Followed by...
Safe Mode With Networking
Safe Mode
Normal Mode

Or...
ADWCleaner
Crome Repair Tool
JRT (Junkware Removal Tool)
ComboFix
Kaspersky TDSSKiller
Malwarebytes
System Restore
Microsoft Security Essentials
AVG Free Anti Virus
Avira Free Anti Vrus
MS System File Checker
All In One Windows Repair
CCleaner
AVG Rescue CD
RogueKiller

That type of thing...to avoid retyping and typos I was looking for a piece of software that would allow me to make a form out of the above. I looked at using a spreadsheet with validation but it's not a very neat way of doing it.

Any ideas appreciated!

Thanks,

David

I use "items" in QuickBooks.

So when you use item "Bench Diagnostics" it pre-fills all of my diagnostics. I then modify / tweak as needed. Saves a ton of time.

I can understand giving people generic notes but detailed itemised ones not so sure. I certainly wouldn't name programs used except in my own notes. As said PCRT does quite a lot.

I'd say d7 for internal notes. Pcrt for generics.

Unless you can configure d7 to hide names of programs.

I use a clip board with the forms from the Technibble kit (tweaked of course) and then when I type out the work order will give all details.
I do not however give out the names of all the programs used for the job.
