As I said I didn't have time to get the full router configs etc.
That would have to be done during a revisit.
so far as I understood it, they have
1st router as a gateway (BT Hub provided by BT)
2nd router for the till system (connected to the gateway)
3rd router that connects to the "other" socket in the main hall (connected to gateway)
4th router plugged in to the socket on the wall in the main hall that then routes back to main office (connected to 3rd router)
Yes it is a mess.
setup by previous owner with no network diagrams, or passwords of configs for the routers in the main office
1 guy came out and apparently spent 2 hours drawing a diagram in the back office, then said i'm just going for acup of tea and never came back or returned any calls
then another 2 guys came, spent 10 minutes looking at it and then said "nope"
a customer came in one day and got them up and running to a degree (but hadn't configured everything correctly)
now they had me (completely by accident) and i am confident I can sort it, providing they want to pay me of course.
I think on the surface of things I can bin the 3 routers.
install 2 decent "dumb" switches
install a unifi AP with guest mode on,
then re run some wiring under the front desk
it won't actually be that complicated I don't think (famous last words)
reccomendations for a couple of small unmanaged switches ?
2 x 5 port would be more than enough in this case
1 will have to be wall mounted in view of customers unfortunately.
