Twitter offices closed as the mass exodus continues.

I really wonder if more money has ever gone up in smoke in less time. The conflagration is just immense beyond my ability to ever have envisioned. And it's all due to stupidity and hubris in a toxic combination.

It also shows why truly great men and women make a point of having people as advisors who are NOT "yes men/women" and who will gladly say, "What in the hell are you thinking?!," when circumstances dictate. Then, they listen when that reaction occurs.

Oh well, this is what happens when they aren't made into "Public Utilities", the new town square. Now we all get to reap those benefits of it being a private company.

What we read is often very biased, with our agenda driven media. The media who is mostly against Musks goals for Twitter.

Recently I saw a pic in a FB tech group, of Musk standing up around a couple of dozen Twitter employees at 2am at the office, and the employees were looking happy, thumbs up, having a good time with him. He's a work-a-holic, and wants the same type of people working for him. Read up on some interviews/articles from people that work/worked for him, that he's very intense, yes a control freak, incredible intelligent, very demanding, doesn't give management a lot of autonomy (back to that control freak thing), often has unrealistic expectations of staff and projects...but...that's how he is.

Other side of the coin of the media, we read that Musk let go a lot of staff who didn't show up for work, who were "milking the system"....taking those corp funded lunches while sleeping from ho....I mean....working from home. That Twitters staff numbers was waaaay too high, that it really has been running on 1/10th of the staff who actually show up to work.

The guy is worth well over 200 billion. The amount that he personally invested in Twitter to him is like the cost of an average used car to any of us. He has some big backers like some Saudi prince, and one of the founders of Oracle.

I find it interesting how many tech firms are laying people off. The Twitter thing is like a smoke screen for other CEO's to cut the slackers. The bad thing for the economy is that's a lot of folks who won't be propping up the economy with their yuppie profligacy and high marginal tax rate payments. Going to cause a big ripple in the pond. Watch your receivables closely!

There's what we "hear" from the media, and then there's "reality".
Twitter has been a mess, no solid direction, it's been floundering. Twitter has had what, 5x CEO's cycling through in the past 10 years?

You'll see Twitter hire people back. He's gutting it, to reinvent it.
*Eyes on YouTube for content creators....going after that market and will try to sway them over to Twitter to be the next big platform for youtube content creators.
*Eyes on Venmo ..and a bit of revenge from the old PayPal days, going after that.

Musk isn't comfortable when things are running smoothly, he's a very successful capitalist that likes to swoop in, turn something upside down, take on impossible goals, shake it, and turn around with a nearly totally different product/service.

But that does not always work. And based on what those who've been part of the mass exodus have been saying, I have very little doubt that Twitter is not likely to be a success story for Musk.

Doesn't always work, agreed. Just...stating..."That's how he is". He is a "It's my way, or the highway" kinda guy.

Timing well with this thread, today I had a long drive across CT to go to one of our Lenovo wholesalers to pickup a bulk order. While I'll admit I "lean" towards the conservative side many times, I usually listen to NPR radio while driving...to keep me balanced, and they're a rather liberal station. Many liberals are mad\ at Musks take over of Twitter. Yet, during this mornings broadcast, they had this story....you can listen to it here (it's 46 minutes).
One of the people on his board, is the 3rd person on the interview, Ross Gerber. Ross states that he is a huge liberal, he hates Trump, yet...if you listen to his part of the interview...around the 18 minute part of the interview...he has influence on Musk....and despite his (Ross's) political stance, to listen to him talk about Musks plan....he has confidence.

So we get to hear directly from a guy on the inside, sitting at the round table with Musk, who basically opposes Musks view....but we're hearing a bit more of what's actually going on.

His history of....employment, and companies, isn't a 100% success story. Yet...he (currently) is the richest guy in the world ...

I had to google that, eew! I don't watch enough Pornhub I guess 😂
The world is a darker place whenever any innocent soul discovers that particular truth.

And it wasn't a pornhub thing, it was a website that had only that image on it, and it went viral. Probably the most human thing ever, but also explains exactly why "the will of the governed" is a terrifying concept.
