Ublock origin has ruined Google Chrome!!

Had a call on this this AM and had to rename Chrome folders in AppData and re-install it. Just re-installing Chrome previously didn't change a thing and I couldn't open Settings to disable extensions. Starting in Safe mode (Private Browsing) didn't help, either. I may go back and try the fix. Couldn't find any way to restore a back-up if one was not made by the user.

Renaming chrome folders in appdata and reinstalling worked then?

OP you don’t have Emsisoft by chance do you?

No A/V at all just defender running. Win10 defaults.

Yea I since found out it’s a Chrome issue and not anything to do with any av or extensions.

Yes, but I had to stop a couple of Chrome-related processes to do that.

Deleting the appdata folder completely fixed it for me. I uninstalled chrome completely with revo and then deleted the appdata folder (all of it) and then did a fresh install of chrome.

One of my techs ran into this problem yesterday and reported that this action fixed it. I've been holding my breath a bit, but no other calls so hopefully it isn't wide-spread.

Luckily it was just a residential client that it didn't effect much lol.

Also not the whole app data folder lol...just the chrome data in app data folder....I can see the way I worded that wasn't the best haha.
