Unifi Access Point showing up as connected via mesh

I setup a new Unifi network using a Dream Router and 3 access points connected via Ethernet.

One of the access points says it's connected via meshing rather than wired.

I have tried different cables and different ports on the Dream Router as well as resetting the AP and re-adopting but it still says it's connected via Meshing.

Any reason why this might be the case and how to fix it?

I think you can turn off the ability to use Mesh somewhere in the controller. Might be worth a shot.

In the settings for the AP, there is a place to change it but the checkbox is selected and greyed out stating it can't be changed until it is plugged into an ethernet cable.

Since you tried different ports on the DR, and different patch cables, only thing left I can think of is a bad ETH port on the AP, or crud in there...preventing a good connection.

The global setting for the network is here..system...advanced tab.... Good to disable it if you're not meshing, there is a "slight" performance (in theory)..due to no "advertising for mesh heartbeats taking up airtime". I always turn it off unless I need to mesh.

That setting is also greyed out saying I need to remove the AP or connect it via cable.

Is there any reason not to try connecting the AP to the secondary port on the unit?

What model AP is it? The old UAP-AC-Pro had a second ETH port, but it was just a bridged port to the primary, and pretty sure not support POE in...thus can't power the AP.

Do you have another Unifi AP around to try? Any others that have been successfully set up on this UDR?

Yes, I setup 2 others without issue.

If you swap the AP showing up as mesh with one that is showing up as wired does the mesh connection follow the unit? If so then it's an issue with the port on the AP.

That might be the only thing I didn't try. I'll give it a shot.
