Uninstalling AVG

We have a script in our RMM that notifies us if any one of a number of "junk" softwares are installed. One of these is AVG, which would conflict with our managed antivirus.

I was uninstalling it from a workstation this morning, when I got this animated dialog:



In the animation, both gears were spinning the same direction. I mean, does NO ONE look at this stuff before it gets released?

I guess having AVG installed IS kind of like having your computer's gears stripped, so maybe the animation is correct!

LOL!!!!!!!!!! Reminds me of my freshman year at Tulane University, New Orleans, LA, in 1976. Of course school spirit is always a big thing so attendance by freshman was "mandatory". Especially if you pledged to a Fraternity. Tulane's band formed up to make a paddle wheel river boat which would go the length of the field playing some song. I was amazed, but really shouldn't have been, when I noticed the paddle wheel was turning in the wrong direction and almost no one noticed.

You should keep a copy of Technibble member @AlexCa 's Antivirus Removal Tool. Lets you find and remove all the leftover detritus from shitware like AVG.

It's portable so easy run from a USB toolbox.
