User with 50+ GB of Outlook stuff

Thanks guys I just moved his archives onto the root of his C: and setup cobian to do once weekly backups.

I'm still interested in learning more about archiving & other ways to deal with this for the longer term.

I'm going to have to fire up a vm to recall my exchange 07 practices. However, exchange 13 has some awesome archiving functionality. Typically, we set up an iscsi target for the archive store. Infinitely expandable.

Offload your archiving to a managed service. Keeps you away from PST's in the first place, and takes huge amounts of processing power away from their server.

It's a Win Win ... you can do the same with email security, email continuity (email access when the server goes down) and both inbound and outbound mail filtering.

How many mailboxes do they have?

Thanks, I guess that's what a service like GFI Mail Archive can do?

This client already has a hosted spam filter / email continuity service...I never really thought of a hosted archive.

I'll look into it.

Thanks!

That's exactly what GFI Mail Archiving does.

Talk to them about setting up an account if you're comfortable setting them up yourself. It's fairly straightforward after you go through the training.

Give me a shout if you have any issues with it.
