[REQUEST] Weird Printer Install Issue

Well, I spent all morning working with my client's computer. Unfortunately, none of your great suggestions helped resolve the issue. The software and system event logs have no warning or error entries referencing the Epson install. I'm at the point, that I must unfortunately do a nuke and pave. I've lost too much time on this. It's frustrating to have to do this for a "simple" problem, but it happens. I appreciate the help and support. You rock!!!

It's probably too late now but I'll document this for the record.

I had a client printer mysteriously stop working on one workstation. I uninstalled the device, uninstalled the software and attempted to reinstall from the OEM installer. It failed repeatedly (device manager reports driver not installed) after trying all the ideas mentioned in this thread. I came across the Print Server Properties tool. Control Panel->Devices and Printers->Select any already installed printer->Print Server Properties appears in the toolbar. Click this to open the dialog.

Select the Drivers tab to show all installed printer drivers. And, what do you know, there's the printer I've just finished uninstalling. It would appear the drivers were not uninstalled despite me selecting that during the device removal.

Select the driver in question and click remove. Now the OEM installation correctly installs the printer drivers.

I had never heard this tip before Mick shared a link earlier in the thread. I did go in and delete the Epson driver, but alas still no joy.
