Ive tried the ultimate boot disk made a copy of it and everything was good, I could test hardware and erase whole drives, but what I really downloaded it for was because I heard I would be able to run virus test from the boot it would never work for me though everything else worked but the virus stuff. My question is. Is there any better boot disk other than UBD? or is there another way to scan a PC for infections from the boot instead of having to go into the desk top and such?

Hiren's BootCD is the best you can get IMO. A lot of techies on here don't like it because some of the software on it is questionable, but it does work and work well. It has saved me lots of times when nothing else would. I wont put a link to it for obvious reasons but you can google it.

Some? Almost all. There are maybe 3 or 4 out of 100+ tools that aren't warez.

It's not that I have a problem with that. It's that we don't want to recommend people use warez on a public forum.

Ultimate BootCD is ok, but you should also keep Ultimate BootCD For Windows (ubcd4win.com) around as well. I create my own. If you think you could get to that point then look into cdshell for dos based ones like Ultimate BootCD and study up on BartPE for windows based ones like ubcd4win.

Warez is a term used for pirated software. Which is illegal. Bigger IT firms do get audited and sued from companies such as Microsoft. When working with software, always try to keep a record of the product key and keep a good record in the case the software companies audit you.

Best Buy's own Geek Squad got into a bit of legal problems when it was found that some of their techs also used pirated copies of applications.

I'm not recommending you do anything illegal. I just recommend that you try more than one thing and see what works best for you. If you work for a large company I would say stay far away from anything questionable. If like me you work for yourself you would be fine, just never even think about putting anything questionable on a customers PC.
As a side note don't let anyone kid you, everyone who works on computers long enough will at some point use some kind of "warez", hacking tools, keygens, and other questionable software. They either will lie about it or just not talk about it. Just use common sense and you will be fine.

Yes UBCD4W is bootable. Do you know how to access the boot order menu?
