what is the best tablet for remote support?

the ipad has plenty of Remote Support Apps on it. However, I have only ever used the remote support session once and that was to log onto my own machine. But it worked fine

i dont like ipad is too heave and i dont like itunes i was thinking something based on android.
like acer or dell or samsung tablets
If you're only looking for specific answers, ask a more specific question.

Remote support on a tiny screen is awful. I've done it on my iphone; it's not fun. The iPad's bigger screen is great for it.

Just because you don't like iTunes and find an iPad to be heavy (.7kg? Pffft) doesn't mean it's not a valid and viable answer to your original question.

I often use Logmein Ignition to remote back into my office PC on my iPad and it works brilliantly. I've also tested Teamviewer HD on my ipad and whilst it still works pretty well it's nowhere near as user friendly as Logmein Ignition.

I think I would figure out what tablet you like first and then find out what remote support software is available for it. I don't know much about tablets but I'm not sure Android has come out with an "iPad killer" yet. I just don't like Apple in general so I'm never getting an iPad.

I think several remote support solutions are avalible for Andriod/iOS devices. I know for a fact- ScreenConnect, TeamViewer and LMI all support these devices. You may also want to evaluate and price compare what remote support solution you want to use before purchasing a tablet if you have not already done so.

+1 on this. I had the Iphone, but if you want a good, practical experience for remote then use something larger like an Ipad, the screen is superb. I was going to buy the Teamviewer app but didn't want to pay more after buying the lifetime TV licence. Logmein is good but not for casual clients that I can see just established ones.

Also I'm not sure that the small phones are classed as tablets. If you want one lighter than an Ipad then go for the Ipad 2 :) either that or beef up down the gym and get the first Ipad ;)

Does it really need to be a tablet? Why not use a netbook running Windows? Then you can use any remote s/w you like and have a proper keyboard whilst you're at it.

I have an Ipad2 and have used TV and a few others. I find it very cumbersome to convert taps on the screen into mouseclicks. Prefer the desktop versions of remote control software personally
