Ok, I've been at this for a minute now..any help will be greatly appreciated.
Working on a HP desktop, running Win Vista 64bit. The problem is that it freezes when it gets to the desktop. The amount of time before it freezes varies. Does not lock up in Safe Mode. I suspected a virus or rootkit so in safe mode I've run several cleaners, all come up clean. Also checked for suspicious files (to the best of my ability) seeing nothing. I also ran Process Explorer, HijackThis, Autoruns and nothing suspicious came up.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the sound and audio drivers as well.
Also, none of the boot cd's I have will run (UBCD4WIN, DRWeb, Avira, or Kapersky Rescue) I get either a BSOD or an error saying Windows is not starting successfully.
I think I've covered everything...Any ideas?
