Couple of things if I may.

1. The CuttingEdge is mostly irrelavant blurbs. There is stuff about Justin Timberlake and News Corp. Just seems like content to build an image that doesnt exist.

2. Free Discounts and Services, personally, I wouldnt advertise 'free' for anything.

3. Tech Reviews are mostly dated and another example of filler content.

4. I like that you have your prices included in your services. It helps to keep transparency and will build your image.

5. It is much better and coming together which is a vast improvement over your original.

6. For $1600, I would hope that a top end computer would come with a blu-ray burner at that price :) Mine do.

i really appreciate the support. I have been working hard thanks for noticing. I didnt put in a blu ray because i put in 2 burners. Do you think one blue ray is more appealing? I think removing cutting edge and gadget reviews makes the site plainish. Do you think they take away from my overall message? Any suggestions for alternate content? I know i have had a lot of question, but i really appreciate it. Technibble is a great site with great people! Thanks everyone every post has been very helpful!!
 
Are you using an Apache webhost?

You can create a .htaccess file, add the following, and upload it to your root directory (usually public_html):

Is 1and1 a Windows or *NIX host?
 
Seems like you are putting more work into a subpar foundation. Have you even looked at wp?

Your custom built computers prices are outrageous IMO. Custom built computers are a thing if the past.

I respect your opinion. But i put these systems on my website because i have a lot of inquires from home users, law firms, and doctor offices.

Just a question can you be more specific on what makes the site an unstable foundation? I only ask so i can work on improving it. I know you suggest word press but i will work as long as it takes to make it great coding by hand. I guess i am just stubborn like that lol:)

Your site looks like you haven't even bothered doing anything at this point. I wouldn't throw stones in glass houses.

This is merely your opinion. On an average week, I sell 10 custom builds. Each market is different. While the pricing might be a bit high, it is each owners prerogative to market however they see fit.

Your post comes off as a personal attack, which serves no purpose. I have to catch myself at times, and I know it might be difficult, but things work smoother when people are less self-righteous.

On a professional level, Bob has made massive improvements on his site primarily because he recognized a weakness and asked for assistance. I would imagine that Bob would like his website to be better than it is now, and it will with time. Cut the guy some slack, he deserves it.

Not sure if this has been touched on yet, but I would recommend outsourcing the graphics design. It looks like you have done it yourself, which looks way better then what I could do, but many of the images are blurry and the color scheme makes them hard to read. Believe me investing in good graphics is well worth it in the long run. Also On one of your pages your home icon is guy working on a computer with his but crack showing; although we all find this funny for many reasons, I think it might be sending a slightly negative image of you/your company, as I'm sure that you dress very professional for your jobs.

BTW AlphaCS, I got this when I tried to view your page, so IMO YOU have LOTS more work to do to your website then Bob does, because his customers can at least contact him on the internet.

Agree word press or other CMS should be used. (Alt - get a template)

Existing site looks Amateurish (No offense intended),
Should be centered.
Way too much empty space at bottom of pages.
Find the text to be "too large" in places.
Banner doesn't go across the entire top.
Menu system (http://robertjgregory.com/appt.php) has html references although using PHP extension
causing http://robertjgregory.com/index.html (No error redirects I.E. custom 404 etc. pages)
Maybe put a "contact me" button in footer of every page.

Consider that your website is an interactive brochure - Must reflect your expertise, professionalism, and experience.
Keep "about Me" info short and sweet. Everything else is about customer interest - the only thing they want to know about you is:
  1. that you have experience and can make their problems go away,
  2. that you know what your doing,
  3. how much you charge (a bargain at twice the price),
  4. and how to contact you.
Reinforce "I'm here when you need me"

I Like putting up prices - lets folks know what to expect. (Like are you a $20 kid or someone who knows that they know what
they are worth and is not afraid to demand it) - helps keep the bargain hunters and chiselers away..

The only free thing you should offer is maybe an explanation about the difference between Malware and a virus (type of thing)
maybe a tip or two on the basics (importance of Virus protection, why not to warez - etc.)
Most free stuff isn't worth the cost.

And Above All "Close, Close, Close" - If you don't close three times you haven't tried.
Make them read what you say and inexplicably have the urge to call you.

your right i know my site needs improvement that's why i asked in this thread! I really appreciated you coming to my defense Cornerstone Technologies. And to everyone one else i have found all your advice very helpful. This site is a great recource.

P.S. AlphaCS when i click on the link in your signature google chrome says the site will give me a virus.

Most sites now put all info into a container then have that container centered.

That would look a lot better. Right now your site looks like it's all over the place.

I'm sure you've spent many hours on it.

I would recommend learning some css basics for starters. Link your html pages to your css file for the design.

Your pages will load a lot quicker.

didnt mean to attack you. i didmt realize everyone had already mentioned the site thing. i was just saying it in case you didnt know. Hope google can fix it for you!
 
tf76 thanks for the advice i will take a look at those sites! i have spent a lot of time on it but i am willing to work for as long as it takes to make it a great site. I do understand its not in tip top shape yet and i appreciate everyone help and advice!
 
^^^. I never thought you were attacking. I was aiming that at a few people with ther panties in a bunch that posted before you.

Getting your site hacked sucks. But I did have another site already built so it's perfect timing getting that rolled out.
 
I suggest you purchase a ready made template for $25 - $100 that will give your website a instant professional look. This will free up your time fixing computers.

You might want to consider facebook or other social media as your landing page. Faster exposure and might improve your page ranking.

I hope you are using Dreamweaver to create the web pages, it’s easy and fast. You can get some more buttons, website theme etc. It would make your website look more professional.

i am using Dreamweaver but doing most of coding myself.
