[SOLVED] Clean Install Win 7 Error Message? Conclusion: it was a USB 3 issue.

Geez, 22 posts into this and no one has asked. What is the EXACT model of this unit? Some systems are flat NOT compatible with Windows 7.

That's precisely what I'm beginning to wonder. It's a Dell Latitude E5570. Shipped less than a month ago with Windows 10 pre-installed. The company wants to revert to Windows 7 due to compatibility issues with proprietary software that they use. The first time I contacted Dell they made no mention about the PC not being compatible with Windows 7, but rather as soon as I mentioned 7 they simply refused to provide any support. I'm contacting them again to see if I can get more information.

Awesome, Windows is now loading. Much thanks Go-To Gordon!

And thanks to each person who presented ideas!

*By the way, for anyone who needs to do this same thing, although the ReadMe document says the Win 7 USB 3 Creator utility will run on Win 7 and above, it will actually only work on a Win 8.1 or Win 10 PC. In other words, you have to create the Win 7 USB 3 bootable key while logged into a Win 8.1 or Win 10 PC.

Either that or you can change a setting in the BIOS so that USB 3.0 ports operate as USB 2.0 ports. I have no idea what the exact setting is called as it's different in every notebook, but the help/description will say that changing this setting to X will allow the USB port to be either 2.0 or 3.0 depending on the detected OS.
