Fab's AutoBackup 7 Pro - a must have tool for techs

Well:
- first,I need to find another progress bar type because the standard one does not allow to put text on it. By the way, is that percentage the current file progress or the entire job progress?
- The text labels and information boxes can be moved like that BUT, Fab's AutoBackup is translated into several languages and not all of the translated string will fit in such little lengths. It is better to keep these items where they are.
- No problem about the copying file text edit.

1. What Unstoppable Copier does is it has the percentage of the individual file in the text box with the file name, but it shows it via progress bar vs. text percentages. That would be a great addition to the bar at the bottom that lists the file that's being copied at that moment. This helps because it might take a looooooooong time to copy a file (say, several gigabytes or larger) and appear to be frozen to the end user, but with a progress indicator for each file that's being processed, there's no guessing whether the program is frozen up or not. Having an overall global progress bar with a percentage is a good idea too. Unstoppable Copier has both of these.

2. Is there a way to have the text fields dynamically adjust depending on their content? That way for languages that have longer labels, they will still be visible. The way you have it set up now, the boxes on the right side are smaller than the ones on the left side and it looks wrong. In addition, centering these elements helps differentiate the live log from the rest of the elements on the page.

3. That's good.

I have done it like that:

Yes, the screen shot is in French and as you can see, labels just fit. I do not know what's going on with other languages since I do not have other translations for the new strings yet.
I still had no luck about the file percentage on the progress bar but I have tweaked it so it uses 10000 increments instead of 100 like it did before. This way, it should be always moving, even with huge files being copied.
Perhaps I should release this one now since there are issues to fix in the official release.

Fab's AutoBackup 7 Pro V7.0.6.33 has just been released.

Change log:
Added:
- Waterfox browser profiles support.
- The program now keeps the backup sub-folder.
- Job status window has been improved with real time information about the current job

Fixed:
- Dropbox and hubiC contents were copied to their old paths when performing a direct transfer job.
- The program does not try anymore to get system serial number when the source drive is not the current system drive.

Grab it from your orders history's details on the shop's website at https://store.fpnet.fr/account.php?language=en or using the bundled updater tool (click the "Download Fab's AutoBackup 7.X" link within the program and get the updated files).

Looks great! Thank you for implementing these changes. I can't wait to try out the new version when you release it!

OMG - leave the poor man alone. It appears you have your heart on Unstoppable Copier. FABS had done us well for a number of years. These are just cosmetic changes - do you ask Roadkil.net to modify UC?

I didn't have to because Unstoppable Copier already had these features. And these aren't just cosmetic changes, but new features. If you can't easily read the new live log, it's kind of pointless. Now it's easy to see and works great!

I applaud @fabs for listening to his customers and making improvements based on user feedback. If other developers did this, there would be a LOT of good software to choose from. Unfortunately most developers don't do this, and most software sucks royally.

do some testing with form resizing...

@fabs one more thing to suggest. There's no file transfer speed showing. It would be nice to show the speed at which files are transferring. I recommend taking the current single-file progress bar and replacing it with a total progress bar that includes the percentage transferred and the speed in MB/s. Then I recommend using the current progress bar and fusing it with the "copying files" white text box. We don't need a percentage here or anything. The bar should function just like it does now, only with the name of the file that's currently being transferred inside of it. And it should remain white.

I have tried to add speed in the past with no success. It's time to try again. This time it will have to wait for me going back from vacation.

Don't you go working on your vacation though. It's bad for your health!
Yes, working on this program can be very stressful sometimes, especially when this is not your full time job and do this on spare time. Now, it is time to take some rest and enjoy the holidays. The computer stays at home, I only take the smartphone with me.

Finally, I have to take a computer with me. Someone reported oddities with files counts and sizes on the Fab’s AutoBackup support forum: https://forums.fpnet.fr/viewtopic.php?pid=1918#p1918
Now I have to reproduce the issue and fix it. This information is there to enforce user's trust in the program and now, it is just going to do the contrary. I hope the WiFi at the hotel will work good...
So far I have not been able to reproduce the problem. All that I know is that the program was running in XP. I am waiting for additional clues.

I haven't tested it in Windows XP, but so far it's been working fine as far as I can tell. We don't run it on client computers in the shop - only on our bootable Windows 10 image we keep on external SSD's and our backup/imaging machines. Windows XP has been out of extended support for 4+ years now. If you can't replicate it with Windows 7+, I wouldn't worry about it. No one expects a new program to work with an ancient operating system that's had a viable replacement (Windows 7) for 8 years now. To be honest, I'm surprised the program even launches in Windows XP. I can't imagine THAT would be a pleasant experience. Fabs is slow to launch even on our backup/imaging machines that have 4th gen (or newer) i7 processors, 32GB of RAM, and Intel Optane SSD's. I mean, honestly - Photoshop CC launches faster on the same hardware.
