I didn't even use a discount last time for 6 pro. But I don't believe in doing that with someone who spends a lot of coding/designing time, expecting % off. I'll pay the 45 Euros again to support him. I love the program. It's made work for backup/transfer 100x easier.

I am a v6 pro user and I have tried to upgrade my licence to v7 pro following the link on the upgrade page but I get a message saying that "We are sorry to inform you that this Fab's AutoBackup 6 Pro order is not eligible to free upgrade because it is too old", even though you state on the upgrade page that "If you have purchased your Fab's AutoBackup 6 Pro license before 2017 September 19th, you can upgrade it to Fab's Autobackup 7 Pro for free."
My licence was purchased before 19/9/2017, so I assume I can upgrade, right?

Are you sure of that? I have looked at all the orders from Greece I have in database and the most recent was placed on 2017 June 20th which is older than 2017 September 19th. If I am mistaking, please PM your order number and I will check that for you.

I do not know if you had a reply for this question (things have been moving very fast the last past days!).
To convert your 6 pro license to 7 Pro, go to this page, fill the form with your order information, get the program form your store's account and you are done!

No, I don't think so.

Even if the wording on the Web site was incorrect then it was clear from context that the offer was intended to compensate people who'd recently bought the product and not as a freebie for those who'd used it in the distant past. I think everyone else understood that.

OK, i'll just let you continue being a d!ck about it. I'm pretty sure that if a typo in your site leads to a mistake you'll just blame the other person for your own mistake. It is cheaper this way for you...
Well, thank god @fabs is nothing like you because he did after all change my licence taking responsibility for a silly (I agree) mistake. He didn't have to do it, I didn't even ask him to. I would pay for it anyway but the man did that. And this is one of the many reasons we love working with him and his product. And this is why we'll get the three years extended updates.

Either way once the program hits the point that updates are not included and it is time to renew for updates will I be notified so I can renew it promptly?

Of course, the one year duration starts from the conversion's date. I have not put some kind of notification for this yet. With today's version, if the update period expires, then the program will tell it.

When do yall use it?

Why use it?

Is it better than dragging over customers user profile and dropping in the new OS?

Its a great time-saver, I use it constantly, its gets just the stuff you want, the only thing I have to watch out for is quicken or quickbooks data files in the program directory instead of in the users account. On business computers I often image too if I have to nuke&pave, but fabs never lets me down.

How do I change the font colour for the text on the transfer window?
(The text that shows what's being transferred.)
On my darker blue background the text is black and hard to see.
I've had a fiddle with the .ini file but can't get that particular font to change colour.

I have made a little change for that. Now, it will get the same color as the "Log" label text. It now uses the "CategoryFontColor" value of the BRANDING section of the "autobackup.ini file" instead of the "ItemFontColor" value. Would that be OK for you?

While V7 was in beta test, I have been asked to add that "Pro" mention clearly shown in order to make a quick visual difference between Pro and consumer versions.
Now, I have also made changes to keep it only if the name has not been changed. The "Pro" mention will still remain on the title bar but that should not be a big deal right ? This way, branded names look like they should but it is still easy to make the difference quickly between versions.

I am waiting for a bug fix test result and will release this version as soon as I get it.

Yes, that's right. This cannot be done directly.
Anyway, there is a trick for this:
Let's say I have a multi user backup made with V6 stored at in "E:\Backup\2018-03-23\ComputerName" withsubfolder like "User1\archive", "User2\Archive", "PUBLIC\archive"
Create a text file named "backup.conf" at this folder's root (where there are folders with the users names) and put the following information in it (adapt it with your backup information):

[USER1]
ArchivePath=USER1\archive

[USER2]
ArchivePath=USER2\archive

[PUBLIC]
ArchivePath=PUBLIC\archive

Save it with UTF-8 encoding (using the dropdown menu in the notepad's save as dialog).
Just make sure that your file's full name is "backup.conf" and not "backup.conf.txt" if the known file extensions are hidden in your explorer

This should work now!
