This guy is in downtown Dublin, Ireland and does this all the time. The new lighted "tree" does better than his non- lighted one.
It especially works well because of Christmas. People seem to take it with smiles over there. Over here he would probably get the crap beat out of him.
They also have some good looking females roaming there as well.

Most of his 'victims' seem to be female too. I guess that's partly because ladies usually give a better reaction (the scream factor) and partly because the instinctive reaction to a surprise space-intrusion for some blokes will be to punch!
And he does get a few cuddles/gropes too. #MeeToo
