Humor Section!

Forgive a non-humor observation: Just remember, people of any age are a very direct product of their parenting.

I was a graduate student from 1997 through 2000, starting back at age 35, and I was shocked then at the change in attitude that my 20-something classmates exhibited on all kinds of things, but particularly academic rigor (and the ability to be able to withstand it).

They didn't get that way by themselves, just as those of us of other groups did not become what we are by ourselves. Along the way there's plenty of blame to be shared for the situation we find ourselves in. (And that's not limited to this sphere, either).

Porthos,

People laugh (and, I admit, the sight is funny). That being said:

My partner is currently part of a face mask sewing circle (and everyone's remaining in their spots and more than 6 feet apart during the effort) that's supplying masks that allow for filtration inserts and the masks themselves are washable and reusable. The hospital closest to their location contacted them and is currently taking all they can make.

Elsewhere, and I cannot find the reference to cite, "feminine products" were a recommended filtration insert, but still not as good as vacuum cleaner bags, of all things. But when you think about what a vaccuum cleaner bag must prevent from getting back out, and how fine most of the dust is, it does make sense.

It is great what they are doing. At least they are doing something to keep busy in these times.
