They do "work fine" but I know the heat from that SATA drive wouldn't be any good for the SSD!

I'm trying to figure out if the old drive is even still connected. I suspect that it's being used as a substitute for the correct frame that allows the SSD to fit into that space.

If the old drive is NOT connected then it's acting like a giant heat sink for the SSD!
