Man, I can identify with this. So many times I have wished I had decided not to touch a system from hell, or at least made a drive image first.

I think proofreading is a lost art. I see stuff like this all the time in the media.
And it's showing up in places where you think it never would. Like WSJ, NYT, The Economist, etc, etc .I think proofreading is a lost art. I see stuff like this all the time in the media.
Exactly! Not setting a very good example for the general public, is it? Plus, it shows a lack of education, when they misspell prolifically. I'm horrified by some of it, wondering how kids can even get through high school when they are not pushed to at least garner some command of the English language. And it's showing up in places where you think it never would. Speed has taken over accuracy
I'm always flabbergasted by the misspellings, poor diction, awful grammar etc that Gen Z seem to think is acceptable.Exactly! Not setting a very good example for the general public, is it? I rarely correct anyone online but this is one I did......... I got such a kick out of the word "prawns", when I knew he meant "fronds"....... lolI'm always flabbergasted by the misspellings, poor diction, awful grammar etc that Gen Z seem to think is acceptable.
Reading their social media messages, listening to them speak etc just continually keeps me eye rolling.
When corrected, they look at me like I'm from Mars.
When a (Gen Z) friend was studying for her Criminal Law degree I proof read every assignment before she handed them in. She appreciated the "second opinion."
Close -- the "p" is not in uppercase.
Yeah, I assumed so, too. Subtle humor, which I like. That's allegedly the point.
You mean the ones that are all wrinkled and shrunken? lol...... I like 'em a little on the dark and toasty side. In about a month, it could happen during the 120+ degree weather..... lolI want to see 'em about an hour to 3 hours later. They'll probably look like hotdogs at gas stations that have been sitting on those roller heaters for a day!
I've got two cousins who live in Chandler and you couldn't pay me to put up with the kind of heat you all are suffering through at the moment!
