Actually, his first post did indicate that he has no money. He used the same verbiage as I've seen time and time again from people who "have ideas" but "don't have the skills to implement them." I won't waste time explaining the thoughs/actions of these types of people, but the fact of the matter is that everything in his post lends support to him being one. It's not a matter of cynicism, but reality.

I'm not bashing him for having this sentiment, he's naive, we all go through that stage. The sooner he can realize this, the better it will be for him in the long run.

Your job will be to design what I think up (and to add your own ideas as well). If yo have the talent and idel time, let's put that to use and start making something.

Fair enough, I think this is what you're seeking right? There a few web guys here that are looking to do side jobs. Like Bryan. If I was you, I would come up with at least a couple ideas then pitch them. You almost have to have it down in a project form with expected results for anyone to be interested. It's a sales pitch of sorts, the web guy will want to see what's in it for him later on, like commission or partner.

Wrangle in those ideas boy, they will pay off.

I never said I have no money but I'm not putting it out there to be milked dry. If someone wants to work with me, they can work either as a partner or a limited partner with limited up front pay and options/ownership uopn completion.

I don't expect anyone to work for free unless you are my best friend who I grew up wtih and we live together and work together, basically like brothers - and we would have to be in the exact same boat.

If I said I have 50K to make this project work, how many of you selfish asses would have said that it would cost about 45-48,000 to make it work, when it could be done foe 1/20'th that price.

This isn't my first time around the block, I am not looking for an employee to create a buggy program but I am looking for a partner who will make an excellent program, one of which he will work with day in and day out so he knows it had better be easy to work with. He then gets paid salary plus stocks or however he chooses to distribute his income.

Maybe some of you think it would have been smart to say I HAVE $100,000 to set up a end to end SSH tunnel (or whatever easy thing there is) can it be done for that?? And if you can do it is that enough money?

Seriously you really need to just put out there what you want and spell it out. I have a developer I worked with for many years now and starting out i'd give bits and pieces of info and then he would reply with bits and pieces and then we would screw around with pricing and cost and in the long run it wore both of us out.

Now I have an idea or a project I put it out there to him and he says it will cost X dollars and then it's either a yes or no on my part.

Personally I got 2 ingredients whereas you got one. So why bother sharing with anyone.... just hunt down the idea.
Be careful, you don't have to draw a picture for me to understand the bigger picture.
Safe thing for you would be to say nothing in public
or give it away for free and hope for a mention in the copyright notice:
"All this was possible because of Mr X. who had the idea"
The point is, as long as you don't say what it is your big idea, we can all assume whatever we want, I for one would go for what is called a "Brain Fart"

I give you one of my ideas here, for free, just go and make it reality, and I don't need a penny from you.
Unfortunately the idea I am going to write it here needs a huge investment, and only someone like Google can dream of making it reality.
Maybe the idea even crossed their minds, but so far I haven't heard of it anywhere.
So here it is:

Have you ever wanted to search for a song on the internet, a song which you don't know it's title, neither who sings it?
You don't even know all the song and you don't know any of the lyrics.
All you know is a bit of the melody (the part that got stuck to your brain and brings you back those romantic memories)
So, how would you search for that bit of melody on an Internet Search Engine?
At the moment is not possible because no such search engine exists.
But it is very possible to build one, where you pick up the microphone and start singing the little bit of melody you can remember, then the search engine will capture that sound and search for the pattern in it's database.
If it finds it, will give you the associated links to either listen to it or buy the damn song.

Go ahead and bring this idea to reality and you don't even have to mention that you've heard it from me.

Do you have an idea to spare? So we know how your brain works?

Oh, and I do have the skills for this one, plus the idea, makes 2 of the 3 ingredients.
And yet here I come and spill the beans for nothing.... I already fell I've lost a fortune

Only the stupid modern economics (they are not stupid, but who falls for it) say that if they didn't make the
projected profit/growth in a year, they have lost such and such amounts of money that makes you wonder.

And this is what he did. He asked for someone to help. Anyone interestsed in helping could have asked for more details and got them in a PM. Everyone just assumed he wanted someone to do his work for him and that was it.

I have nothing vested in OP or am trying to accomplish anything. I am just calling out the completely jerkish attitudes that were immediately displayed right from the get go. No questions, no suggestions, just basically told him he was an idiot and dreaming. If no one wanted to help, or knew anyone that he could contact, then so be it. The immediate attacks against him weren't needed, and has really brought out worst of some of the members here.

You can say you were helping by giving him a reality check all you want. The fact is, he probably didn't need it and it was not what he asked for. The OP cleared up that he has money to invest, and his reasoning behind not coming out saying so. Everyone else who threw in their two cents based on false assumptions maybe should be the ones who need a reality check in humility.

All he got to do is build those "money making machines" then find out if they are making or not any money at all.
