Thanks for this link.
I notice the author also refers to the Trinity Rescue Disk, which can also do this, but only on CD, not flashdrive.
Trinity is also the only system that has never failed to recover a screwed login/password for me.
Do you just click create usb? Is that all there is to it?
Please download new version supporting english
Yes. My earlier error was because I hadn't formatted the flash drive first. Then I formatted it FAT without noticing, so had to reformat in FAT32 (after consulting the Babylon translator). Then I clicked the Create ISO button and it seemed to finish but then seemed to restart from the beginning. I just killed the job. The files appear to be on the flash drive (cursory look) but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Will do so shortly.
Hi Parsifal. Thanks for your reply. when I tried to boot the USB flash drive, I got a blank menu and a prompt for a password??? The files are in sardu\ISO\isolinux but I can't find a folder sardu\ISO_CREATA, probably I killed the job too soon. I'll download the English version and try again. I asume it will find all the files downloaded earlier and just run mkisofs. The files in isolinux are also on the flash drive, so I'm confused about the iso that mkisofs is going to build, as there is very little room left on the flash drive (a 2GB drive). Anyway, I'll try again. I assume I should reformat the flash drive before trying again?Sardu extraxt all file needed from isos and put it in the folder sardu\ISO\isolinux. Then with mkisofs make the ISO and put it in the folder sardu\ISO_CREATA
