Limitations for Teamviewer FREE ver.

Thank you to all of you guys that have restarted this tread. The updated information is very helpful for me and exactly what I came here looking for. I've been a self-employed tech for 15 years but my business has always consisted of on-site or pickup/delivery work. I've used TV free for years to help "non-payers" aka family and friends, so I have stayed within the TOS. Unfortunately, I'm not physically able to do field work anymore, so I'm looking to turn my business into 100% remote support. Naturally, using the most reliable remote assist software is going to be critical. That is what I have found not to be TV's strong suit. There has been numerous times that I've been disconnected from the QS Client either during a reboot or while cleaning virus's. If the np's are available, I can call and have them restart the QS but if it's late at night (which is usually when I do free work) I'm finished for the night. I'm looking for software that will allow re-connections under all circumstances. I can't afford to lose business customers because I got disconnected after they've left for the day. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Buy the licence copy and install the host version on the remote computer NOT the Quick support and you control the reboot from the actions menu. I have not had issues rebooting as I tell the computer if I want the reboot

Thanks for the response Drpcnz. On some of the systems that I access on a regular basis, I have the host version installed. With the free version any one of these people can access my pc just as I can access theirs. I only use this version on the machines of people that I can absolutely trust, and also computer illiterate, (like my parents). The host version is running as a service on each machine. Can this 2-way access be disabled in the licensed version?

I use TeamViewer's paid version since a couple of years, sadly it happends that after a reboot or else that I lose the connection.
QS of full version it happens. Makes me rage but i guess we gotta live with it.
Teamviewer's weakest point is on Mac's too, can't even reboot the computer if you have not setup an unattended access first.
I guess most remote software are not perfect.

Thanks for the confirmation JFM. I really don't want to pay $500 to get cut off, when I can get it for free. :(

Okay I have the full version installed on my computer, all my business clients have the host version installed on their end my residential clients have the Quick Support version at their end. The host versions I have set a static password that I know, the clients don't and don't need to know what it is. The QS version s the client has to be there to open it so they give me the 4 digit password. My computer is set with a static password that only I know so NOBODY can get into it except me. When I setup Teamviewer I always select don't join to an account, and then I just add them manually at my end. That way I can enter them into which ever group I want. Don't installed the full version on any end user. Hope this helps

@Denis Yakhnovets , I've already checked out ScreenConnect and I like it so far. I'll check out Litemanager today. Thanks for the suggestion.

I fully understand what you are saying but the host version is not available for free. At the beginning of my post I explained that I have used the free versions for years. Since Ver. 4 in fact. For people that I have to access on a regular basis, I have the full version installed. My machine is password protected as is theirs. They don't know any passwords. The only reason they I know that they can access mine is because I opened my parents installation to access my machine using a anonymous DNS service one day and I was totally surprised to see that their interface was exactly like mine. With groups and all. All I had to do was click the link for my machine and I was in. I found that, with the free version at least, all of the full versions have to use my account for unattended access to work. That's why I use QS on the machines of people that are not close to me. The people that have the full version don't know what to do with it anyway. Although they do know that I can connect to my home machine from theirs. That why I wanted to know if this is a fallacy that is in the business version too. I'm assuming by your answer that there is a possibility that it doesn't. So yes, your response is helpful. Thank you for taking the time to give a full explanation.
