Login/logout loop problem on XP. I can't comprehend the fixes in the articles.

Should it come to a reinstall, don't just take the my documents and other visible folders in the profile, take the entire profile its self, hidden files/folders and all.

Once Windows is installed and a user account is active, put the profile back in documents and settings and then open regedit.

Find HKLM\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\profilelist

On the right side of the screen find the SID that belongs to the new user account and change the profile path to the name of the old profile and reboot.

Now when you login you'll see the customer old wallpaper, documents, and e-mails provided the e-mail client they were using before was reinstalled.

All the users settings will be just like they were before, you just have to worry about software they need reinstalled.
